My game progress is missing

On the website you play with a free Wits account. Web game levels and stars are saved in the browser where you played, for the account you were signed in with. Check these first:

  • Sign in with the same account as before.
  • Use the same browser and browser profile as before. Other browsers and devices keep their own copy.
  • Private or incognito windows usually delete site data when they close.
  • Clearing this site’s data deletes your web game progress. Clearing cookies alone can sign you out.

If you practiced with the website’s daily questions before it became games-only, that earlier practice stays in your Wits account. In Settings, under “Practice data in your account”, you can export it or add a progress backup.

Where can I get the iPhone app?

Wits for iPhone is available on the App Store. You can also play on the web with a free Wits account.

Moving the iPhone app to a new phone

The iPhone app has no sign-in, so your progress is saved on that phone. Before you delete the app or change phones, save a Full progress export from You â€ș Settings & help.

Playing on the website and playing in the iPhone app are separate for now: the app has no sign-in, so what you play on the web stays on the web.

Today’s games show a different day than I expected

Today’s set follows your device’s date and time zone, and a new one starts at local midnight. If you travel or change the clock, the set follows the new date. Days you’ve finished stay in your history.

The animations are distracting

Turn on reduced motion in your device settings. Wits respects it everywhere, and every result is also written out in text.

Accounts

I didn’t get a sign-in code

Codes can take a minute. Check spam or promotions, and make sure the address is the one you use for Wits. You can ask for another code after a short wait.

“Progress changed in another tab”

Wits was open in more than one tab and the other tab saved first. To protect both copies, this tab stops saving. If this tab has changes you want to keep, export them from Settings, under “Practice data in your account”, then reload.

My saved progress won’t open

The copy saved in this browser couldn’t be read. Nothing has been deleted, and anything that has synced is still in your account. In Settings, under “Practice data in your account”:

  • “Export my progress” saves the whole saved copy as a file, including any change that hadn’t reached your account yet.
  • Under Recovery copies, “Show kept copies” lists up to five earlier versions kept in this browser, and you can export each one.
  • “Download cloud recovery copy” saves the recovery copy kept in your account.

Damaged copies from before accounts were required aren’t uploaded. They stay in this browser until you clear this site’s data.

Premium and billing

How do I cancel?

Premium is bought in the iPhone app, so you cancel it in your Apple subscription settings (Settings â€ș your name â€ș Subscriptions). Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.

I paid but don’t have Premium

In the iPhone app, tap Restore purchases on the Premium screen or in You â€ș Settings & help, using the same Apple ID you paid with. Premium is for the iPhone app, so it doesn’t show on the website. If it still isn’t there after a few minutes, email us with the date you paid. Never send your card number.

Can I get a refund?

Premium is bought through Apple, so refunds follow Apple’s refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you need a hand, email us and we’ll help.

Diagnostic summary

A private snapshot for troubleshooting

This creates a short summary on your device: browser type, storage status, and how many sessions from the website’s earlier daily questions this browser holds for the account you’re signed in with. Any from before accounts were required are counted separately. The summary isn’t sent anywhere. Read it before you decide to share it.

To count the right sessions, it checks which account is signed in. It never includes your name, answers, session or account IDs, practice times, email or sign-in details, and it doesn’t change your progress.

Still stuck?

Email support@usewits.app and tell us what you were doing, which browser or device you use, and what you saw. Never send a password or full card number.
